Räikkönen returns to Formula One

Kimi Räikkönen will make a comeback to F1 next season with Lotus Renault. Räikkönen has signed a two-year contract with the team.

The ex-world champion left F1 after the 2009 season following a split with Ferrari. During the past couple of years, Räikkönen has competed in Rally World Cup events.

“I am very glad to return to the F1 series after two years. I’m grateful for getting this opportunity,” Räikkönen commented. “Lotus Renault was an easy choice—I’m impressed with the passion of this team.”

Nicknamed "the Iceman", the 32-year-old driver has won 18 races in his F1 career.
