Talks broke off again on Thursday, with the two sides trapped in a complete deadlock. The main sticking point surrounds weekend work in the meat and bakery industries.

On Wednesday, the Finnish Food Workers' Union began a six-day strike involving more than 80 food production facilities. Food products have, however, not run out in shops despite the strike.
