The three are Abdishakur Moalin of Vantaa, Pasi Orava of Oulu and a grandfather from Mynämäki, Hannu Gustafsson.
Moalin is a teacher and father of four who moved to Finland from Somalia about 20 years ago. He is active in volunteer youth sports activities and helping young people integrate into Finnish society. Hundreds of kids play football under his leadership.
Orava, an Oulu city council member, has adopted and fostered children. He is active in family issues and as an advocate of children's rights.
Gustafsson, from a small town in south-west Finland, has done volunteer service as a "village granddad" and worked to spread the concept of "deputy grandparents".
Minister of Social Affairs and Health Juha Rehula presented the men with their awards on Thursday. The Fathers' Day honours have been handed out since 2006, with President Tarja Halonen's husband Pentti Arajärvi serving as their patron.
