In all, 795.9 million litres of beer, cider, alcopops, mineral water and soft drinks were sold last year. The sum is down three percent, or 24.6 million litres.

Most of the decrease is down to a reduction in beer consumption. Sales from Finnish breweries fell by 23.9 million litres, or 5.7 percent.

Mineral water sales grew around 10 percent last year, with around 64.9 million litres of bottled water sold. This was the only drink category that saw a growth in sales last year. The statistics come from the Finnish Federation of brewers and soft drink manufacturers.
