TietoEnator management have announced plans to lay off large numbers of staff this year.
Management said that it hopes to improve the company's efficiency in a much more competitive market. They plan to cut jobs and centralise operations, saving approximately 10 million Euros in 2005.
Most of the jobs threatened will be in Finland, with up to 110 people who could be made redundant. TietoEnator announced on Wednesday that statutory talks with personnel will start on the 9th. of May.
The exact number of employees losing their jobs this year is expected to be announced at the end of June 2005, following the completion of formal negotiations between management, staff and unions.
