Left Alliance Head: No More Nuclear Power for Finland

Paavo Arhinmäki, Chairman of the Left Alliance has called on Finland to re-evaluate its nuclear power policy in light of the recent events in Japan.

Arhinmäki has called for no new nuclear power licenses to be granted.

Arhinmäki received news of the explosion at the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan during a meeting of Left Alliance delegates.

“The Japanese nuclear plant accident has shown that nuclear power still carries with it the risk of a catastrophic accident,” he declared.
