Nokia's shares again slip below four euros

Nokia's shares were again trading for just less than four euros on Thursday, the lowest in 13 years.

On Thursday morning, Nokia again slipped to 3.97 euros, after fluctuating around the four-euro level on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the Helsinki Exchange was down 0.7%, as were shares in Nokia, which is by far its largest company.

In the spring of 2000, Nokia's share price peaked at around 65 euros.

NSN talks founder

Meanwhile Nokia and Siemens have abandoned attempts to sell a stake in their joint venture Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) after holding unsuccessful talks with private equity firms for the past 12 months.

NSN, the world's number two maker of wireless networking gear, has struggled to make a profit since its formation in 2007, hit by falling operator spending and price cuts by market leader Ericsson and Chinese rivals Huawei and ZTE.

Bearish outlook for Q2

Nokia will publish its second quarter report on Thursday of next week.

On Thursday a Reuters poll of 36 analysts suggested that Nokia will report a second-quarter loss as it loses market share in its main cellphone business. Of analysts who gave a recommendation on the stock, four were positive, 11 negative and 10 neutral.
