Over 12,000 fans gathered at Hartwall Arena to watch the Finns' decisive victory over the Austrian team. Both teams were playing back to back matches.

"It's a little tough to play so close after the Russia game," said the Finnish team's man of the moment, Petri Kontiola. "I don't know if I was 100 percent with my energy, but we had a good start, which helped."

Kontiola's goal and two assists bring his total score to 12, making him the first 2013 Championship player to break into double-digits.

Despite Kontiola's modest account, for many the win comes as no surprise; Austria has been consigned to a lower division every time they have appeared at the elite level since 2005.

The Lions will take a well-deserved breather for the next few days before taking on Latvia on Tuesday night.
