Finland’s Latvala wins tough Greece rally

Finland’s Jari-Matti Latvala managed to hold on to his lead in the Acropolis rally in Greece Sunday. The win marked Latvala’s first in this year’s world championship and was also his maiden victory with Volkswagen.

Latvala held on to a strong lead at the end of Saturday’s stage to beat out Spain’s Dani Sordo driving for Citroen by 1:50.

Latvala’s teammate and the undisputed leader in the world championship series, the Frenchman Sebastien Ogier dropped behind in the opening stages of the race due to a fuel feed problem and finished 10th overall Sunday.

The Belgian Thierry Neuville finished in third place for Ford.
