Bottas takes third place in Austrian F1 race

Valtteri Bottas took his first Formula One podium position, coming in third at Austria’s Red Bull Ring. Nico Rosberg won the Grand Prix race in Spielberg.

At times the Finnish driver led the race, put lost first place during his second pit stop.

In the end, Bottas passed the finish line 6.2 seconds later than Rosberg.

It was a tight race. Rosberg shot to the lead during the 27th lap, but could not break away from the rest of the pack. Teammate Lewis Hamilton was only 1.9 seconds behind Rosberg, bringing the Mercedes team the 6th double victory of the year.

Rosberg's win opens his Grand Prix lead to 29 points over Hamilton. Daniel Ricciardo, who came in eight in Sunday’s race, is third in the points tally

Finland’s Kimi Räikkönen finished tenth in the Austrian race.
