The cost of owning your own home in Finland has risen by an average of two percent over the last year, according to new figures from Statistics Finland. In the first quarter of this year the cost—which includes maintenance and insurance—was two percent higher than during the corresponding period a year before.

Insurance represents the biggest chunk of the higher costs, with the price of insuring your home increasing by 4.6 percent. The cost to householders of renovations and maintenance, meanwhile, has remained steady over the year.
