Police say that there are no indications that a fire late Monday night ouside the main entrance of the Kaivanto refugee reception centre in Kangasala was intentionally set.
According to police, there are no indications of criminal activity and the incident is being investigated as an accidential fire.
However the possibility of attempted arson was not being completely ruled out as of Tuesday morning.
The fire broke out just before midnight Monday night outside the main entrance to the facility in a pile of rubbish that included clothing. Firefighters brought the blaze under control before it spread to the building.
Police are investigating two separate incidents in which foreign-born residents were targeted in Oulu within the space of a month.
Rain is still expected in parts of the country over the weekend.
The Finnish Defence Forces say there are no signs that drones have strayed into Finland.
