Finnish PM to meet German chancellor in Berlin next week

Finnish Prime Minister Juha Sipilä is headed to Germany next Tuesday to meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble.

Next week Prime Minister Juha Sipilä will meet with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the country’s finance minister Wolfgang Schäuble to discuss a wide variety of topics.

Sipilä and Merkel are scheduled to speak next Tuesday about EU issues such as the migrant crisis, the economy, security and defence, as well as Ukraine and Russia, the Prime Minister’s Office said.

The German finance minister and Sipilä will speak about Greece, the Economic and Monetary Union and international reforms of economic and employment policies.

The office of the PM said Sipilä would also be meeting with German fiscal policy experts during his visit to Berlin.

On Monday and Tuesday President Sauli Niinistö will also be in Germany to meet informally with the presidents of 10 other EU countries.
