I came across these archived shots taken at Rancho Esquon some time back. Loretta had rescued a nest of baby Quail and was showing me how absolutely small they were. The mother Quail had hatched them in the vicinity of the rice dyer and the sudden truck activity had frightened her away. The young were released at a later date in the direct vicinity.
