Chapter title ideas design

Chapter header and first page, a full bleed graphic of a poem LM Augustine wrote for this book, Two Roads, (which features in later chapters). Each chapter also has an intro poem, like you see centered under the title, and the tildas mark every scene break.

Adding headers or titles to your bullet journal adds a nice touch to your spread. Plus, headers let you know what your page is about as soon as you land on it.

I was honored to be asked to do a hand lettering piece for the debut issue of Wayfare Magazine - a beautiful new publication "celebrating the art of the journey." The photos & layouts in here are amazing & inspiring - like a little vacation for the eyes & for me, a reminder to go see & explore. We're thinking of taking a trip - toddler & newborn in tow - sometime soon. Hard not to feel the urge to get out, to get away, to see something new (and preferably in the sunshine) when January in NYC…

Title of chapter and number broken by the graphic element of a line, which also has a hierarchy with the number of the chapter having more importance. Quite like the drop cap that extends above rather than dropping
