✨ Well done if you spotted the main filling stitches are chain stitch (for the cat’s body and face) and satin stitch (for the ears, eyes and nose)... But some other simple stitches play a supporting role:

🪡 Outline stitch: My go-to stitch for fine, curved lines. Used here to add a little definition between the cat’s legs and its body – a subtle effect that makes it pop.
🪡 Straight stitch: The simplest stitch of them all – but sooo good for details. Used here to outline the nose before filling around it, and also to add the whiskers and mouth.

joining me for my stitchalong, welcome. This is how we are
going to do the eyes. We're going to use a satin stitch.
Here is a circle to represent the eye and we're going to take
our satin stitch from one side to the other. In this example,
I'm using pearl thread and a large needle. But in the
stitchalong we will be using one strand and a much smaller
needle. If you struggle with satin stitch like I do here's a
few tips to help make it a little bit easier. I always try
to leave a small gap between each of my first few stitches.
