Here’s a great idea for a DIY art project you can make, inspired by the art of Mark Hearld. Hearld is a British artist whose gorgeous prints, illustrations, and ceramics depict British fauna and flora dancing with color and movement. His installation at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park is a huge flock of painted wood birds suspended over visitors— something I dreamed of hanging in my house. Alas, I’ll have to (happily) make do with this DIY bird mobile I concocted instead.

These mobiles are made using stainless steel wire and cable, hand blown glass and glass sourced from all over the world and various gemstones and crystals. Much of the glass is hand painted and when touched or placed in a breeze, all of these mobiles move and then return to their original position.

Each of the little rabbits in this amazing mobile is hand-sculpted out of clay. It’s so chic and elegant, yet still so sweet and innocent. We think it would look stunning in a baby boy’s room or a baby girl’s room.
