Spinosaurus aegyptiacus is a genus of theropod dinosaur which lived in what is now North Africa, late Cretaceous period (112 to 97 million years ago). Spinosaurus may be the largest of all known carnivorous dinosaurs, even larger than Tyrannosaurus rex and Giganotosaurus. Estimates suggest that it was up to 18 meters (59 ft) in length and 20.9 tonnes in weight. It is thought to have eaten fish, as indicated by its elongated jaws and raised nostrils.
