Dating to the late 1800s or so may I offer this breathtakingly beautiful Bohemian Garnet (points up) necklace from the Victorian era. With a wonderful festoon appearance, the metal of the necklace is thick with pale 9K rose gold (aka garnet gold - tested, not marked) - possibly over brass but I have the feeling the gold may be over silver. This is just a gut instinct which may or may not be right but I have not had a necklace like this with so much of a gold backing in a long, long time. Tongue-in clasp closure that works as it should. Neck length is 15-1/2"; center drop measures 1-1/2". Weight is 16.5 grams - quite a nice weight. Condition is excellent with no stones missing. I can spot perhaps (maybe) 2 replacements but again, I may be wrong on this. Antique Victorian 9K Rose Gold Bohemian Garnet Festoon Necklace (7479RV/ws6798R)
