"Riddles of Hyrule" is a Side Quest in Breath of the Wild.[1]

Overview

On top of the Great Deku Tree in the Korok Forest, Link can wake up the Korok Walton.[2] Since Link is there, he realizes that he must want to face the "ultimate trial."[3] If Link decides to try it, Walton will announce that the trial has begun.[4] He explains that he will share a riddle about an Item, and then Link will have to bring them said Item.[5]

For the first riddle, Walton asks for something small, red, round, and sweet.[6] Walton bets that his riddle has stumped Link, and he promises to dance for him if he can place the Item on the leaf.[7] The answer to this riddle is an Apple.[8]

Next, Walton tasks Link with finding the specialty fruit of Kakariko Village, which has rock-hard flesh.[9] The solution this time is a Fortified Pumpkin, which are sold at Olkin's Pumpkins.[10]

The third riddle asks Link to find a Mushroom that can warm someone's bones, which can be located in hotter regions.[11] To solve this riddle, Link must bring Walton a Sunshroom.[12] They are plentiful in Retsam Forest.

Walton wants Link a "swimmer" that is capable of zapping people.[13] The answer to this riddle is a Voltfin Trout, which are common in the waters of the Tabantha Frontier and Hyrule Ridge.[14]

Finally, Walton asks Link to find an Item that starts with "h" and ends with "oof", and it is dangerous to have this step on you.[15] This final answer is a Lynel Hoof, which is dropped by all types of Lynels when they are defeated.[16]

After solving all five riddles, Walton will give Link a Diamond as a reward.[17][note 1] Walton states that he is out of riddles, which completes the Side Quest.[19]
