The Champion of the Future
"The Champion of the Future" is a Movie in Age of Calamity.[1] It was added in the Guardian of Remembrance Downloadable Content pack.
Overview
"The Champion of the Future" plays upon completing the Scenario "EX Battle for Kakariko Village".
Having saved Kakariko Village, Daruk celebrates from atop Divine Beast Vah Rudania as the crowd of Sheikah cheers for him.[2] Noticing Yunobo standing to the side, Daruk gestures for him to step forward. However, Yunobo refuses, claiming they would not want to see him since he is not a Champion.[3] He recalls that, although he was fearful in the past, there was someone who chose to fight alongside him regardless.[4] Yunobo reveals that he learned to be brave because of that friend, but he claims that he still has progress to make.[2][5]
In response, Daruk takes Yunobo's hand and lifts it into the air, prompting the Sheikah to begin cheering for him as well. When Yunobo smiles, Daruk expresses how proud he is of his descendant, declaring that he is the Champion of the future.[6] Yunobo begins to thank Daruk, but Daruk interjects, requesting that he thank he thank his friend on his behalf.[7] After Daruk slaps his back, Yunobo agrees, and the pair laugh together.
Trivia
- When Yunobo recalls the person who taught him to be brave, the iteration of Link from Breath of the Wild can be seen in a flashback. This references Yunobo's role in the "Divine Beast Vah Rudania" Main Quest.
