Matt Bornstein is a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz focused on AI and data systems. His current investments include Cursor, Unconventional AI, Hex, Svix, Hedra, and Labelbox. Prior investments include Tabular (acquired by Databricks), Replicate (acquired by Cloudflare), and Character.ai (acquired by Google).
Prior to a16z, Matt was a member of seed-stage venture capital firm Blumberg Capital, worked on the biz ops team at LinkedIn, and co-founded two (very small) bootstrapped startups. Matt holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in mathematics from Brown University.
