Marketing policy

Last updated

This page explains how agentskills uses analytics, cookies, and any marketing-related practices. The site is a personal, hand-kept directory — not a marketplace and not a marketing landing page. For data collection and rights, see the Privacy policy.

Scope

Applies to the public website at this domain (directory, entry pages, About, Markdown exports, and related static assets). It does not cover third-party sites you open from an entry (their own policies apply).

Advertising and outreach

  • We do not run third-party display ads, retargeting pixels, or ad networks on this site.
  • We do not sell personal data or share it with data brokers.
  • We do not maintain a marketing email or SMS list by default. There is no newsletter signup on the site.
  • Optional sponsor logos on the home page are static links (no tracking scripts from sponsors embedded on this site).

Product analytics (PostHog)

When configured, we use PostHog to understand how the directory is used — so we can keep the list useful (for example: which install commands are copied, whether search/filters are used).

Typical data may include:

  • Page views and navigation (URLs, referrer)
  • Product events such as install_copied and directory_filtered (entry name/category/slug, filter text where applicable)
  • Technical metadata (browser, device type, approximate locale, anonymized or hashed identifiers assigned by the analytics SDK)

Events are sent through a first-party path on this domain (/_ph) and then to PostHog Cloud. Processing is governed by PostHog’s own terms and privacy documentation. Analytics is not loaded when no project token is configured (for example, local development without secrets).

Cookies and local storage

The analytics SDK may store small identifiers in cookies or local storage so visits can be associated across pages (for example, a distinct ID). Theme preference (light/dark) may also be stored locally by the site. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising.

Session recording

Session replay is off by default. It is only enabled if the site operator explicitly turns it on in the deployment environment. When enabled, recordings may capture page interactions as configured in PostHog; they are not used for third-party ad targeting.

Where applicable law requires a legal basis for analytics, we rely on legitimate interest in operating and improving a public directory, or on consent where that is required. You can reduce tracking by:

  • Using browser settings that block or clear cookies
  • Using extensions or “do not track” / tracking-prevention modes (some events may still fail open or be limited)
  • Contacting the operator (see below) to request deletion of analytics data tied to a known identifier when feasible

Children

The site is aimed at developers and professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data for marketing to minors.

Changes

We may update this policy when the product or tools change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes (for example, enabling ads or a marketing list) will be reflected here before or when they take effect.
