Part I includes excerpts from a (previously unreleased)performance at Morden Tower (1984)

Excerpt from sleevenotes(same as the original cassette) by Toshiji Mikawa:
’…The title ‘Succes De Scandale’ refers to, ‘the success of art due to its scandalous nature rather than its artistic value.’ What, I wonder, is the intention behind such a title? If TNB’s live performance represents the scandalous nature of destruction rather than an artistic value of the ‘music’ then such a title is masochistically ironic.
'Succes De Scandale' reminds me of TNB’s early works and is proof that TNB have not changed their original nihilistic stance as outlined in their manifesto of 1982.
Although it is a shame that 'Succes De Scandale' is limited to only 100 copies, hopefully all who are lucky enough to hear it will enjoy the unmistakable uniqueness of TNB's sound.’

「このアルバムタイトルの意味するところは「芸術的価値によるのではなく。主にスキャンダラスな主題を掲げたことによるアートの成功」といった意味のようだが、そのようなタイトルを選択した意図は一体なんなのだろう。このタイトルは、彼らのライヴ映像を見ると覆面をかぶることで誰が誰だか分からなくなって匿名性を帯びることになった各メンバーがステージ上で物を破壊するパフォーマンスを繰り広げている有様に遭遇することが多いという事実を思い起こさせてくれるが、それは結局のところ、TNB 独特の否定的諧謔を化体したタイトルだということなのだろうか。

紛れようもない TNB節が炸裂するこのカセット、100本限定とは勿体なさ過ぎる話だが、この拙文を読んでおられる皆さんは、それを既に入手されたということなのだから、その僥倖を感じつつ、彼らの音を心行くまで堪能していただければ幸いである。美川俊治」
