Orange Rainbow Scrap Challenge FINISH!! and !! Finished ( or not) Friday

 Whoo hoo - Got my last RSC Finish in for the year!!!!!

This was August's top - now Septembers finished quilt.

This is still my Lightning Streak quilt - but I was going for a Corn Maze look - sort of.... I mean - you can get lost in here, and probably not get out. but the idea was there

I quilted it in Fall Leaves

and I found a LARGE piece of Orange in my stash for the back

and then the sun was just bright, so I had to photograph it is a few places... I wanted that quilting to show up!

I bound it in the plaid - and it is on the back of our couch right now. Just a funny - we have three couches - Bella has claimed one, Daisy has claimed one - and the third? I have to put a laundry basket on it so they won't bother my quilts.  ( their couches have blankets covering them so I can make sure the hair doesn't go crazy)

I know RSC is still going and September was darks -  but from now until Christmas... my stitching time is limited - so I just QUILT all day ( whoo hoo) but I didn't want to start something I know I can't finish ;-)

Orange RSC top

 Well - I think it turned out how I wanted it to !

It is no longer in the block stage. It is now a top, and it has a backing made, and!! I even have an idea of how I am going to quilt it.

So yay!! Orange became a top before the month was over. and Today - I have to go back to just being a month of normal - I can't tell everyone its all about me ....  

haha - just kidding - if you know me - everything is ALL ABOUT ME!!

Rainbow Scrap Chhallenge

Teal RSC and!! Finished ( or not) Friday)

 AKA  - the day before the Month of Me ends *sigh* 

Actually it has been a great month. I have done nothing of great significance, no huge trips, no big purchases... just Getting stuff done... and Enjoying every day.

A few days were not as enjoyable as they turned into lots of chores and work I didn't want to to, but had to be done, sorta like paying bills.  Except we had a well problem. and I like water.... (ps its fixed now)

BUT!! I did get my July Teal RSC finished!! Quilted!! Bound!!!

I found a Super cool Teal Paisley print for the back, and I bound it in Black and white stripes. I love it!! 

So For my Month of me - I did stats. ( I think)

• I quilted 4 Quilts of Valor
• I quilted 9 Personal quilts
• I finished 2 Tops start to finish

and 

• I am working on 2 Found Quilt tops
• I cleaned off my pattern/magazine book shelf ( took it from 3 to 1 shelf)
• I shredded 2 boxes of financial stuff ( including QOV expense reports from 2006 whoa!)

• I rode at least 1 horse every day, sometimes 2 or 3
• I got to work with Baby Reno 3-4 times a week
• I had my Dog trainer out 3 times and my dogs are getting SO much nicer to each other
• I went to a wedding 

and 

• I got in at least 20,000 steps per day - go me!
• I did not do a good job of keeping up with all my blogs - so beware - comments are coming haha
• I did not do a good job of keeping up with dishes, or laundry... ( the house is clean tho!)

One of my clients made this awesome quilt - and she showed it at guild. I was so excited to see it all finished!! I LOVED quilting it!

Orange Rainbow Scrap Challenge

 Well - I am having fun with this one - I have a crazy idea, and we will see if it pans out. But - did you know that we are running out of August? Hunh - Not happy about that.

I do have all the blocks done.

I am working on the layout

Maybe by the end of the week it will be a top

Before you tell me blocks are out of order - they aren't - I have an idea... I feel that I can make this look like what I see in my head. Maybe. Sometimes what I see isn't what others can see - hunh! I think that explains my problems right there.... maybe my brain is disordered haha!

August Rainbow Scrap Challenge in Orange

 You are not going to believe this - Orange is just not a color I have a lot of. I wonder if I used it all in the past? Or have I not shopped enough? or is it a combination of both?

I remedied that - I had NO 5 inch squares in my 5 inch square bin, but I found a few pieces in my stash - and!! In my husbands SHIRT pile... He didn't need this one (orange on the far left) anymore right?

I have also decided that while I am here in the orange I will plan a Fall Table Runner... and it will be paired with that Grey.

Ta da!!! I now have ORANGE 5 inch squares.... get to stitching on my next Lightning Streak quilt!!

I have also been thinking of what I want my 2025 RSC block to be - It has to use 5 inch squares. The bin is just not getting emptied. Of course, that really doesn't bother me - I LOVE 5 inch squares!!

June's Blue Lightning Streak Quilt is DONE!!! and!! Finished ( or not) Friday!!

I actually got this done on the 31st - pretty late at night... so I did get it under the wire... but !! I have no proof - so you'll just have to trust me !!

Ta da!!!! It has a wide variety of blues in it - anything that was in my 5 inch square box was fair game. And of course I like white with Blue - its so crisp and clean.  I quilted it up with wavy things ( I need to remember to write down the pantos I use, but its too much work)

I bound it with Light Blue - it kind of looks like a denim ..

And this is the backing I used - Isn't it fun? Its all stripey and Blue and White and Crisp.

I am so happy to have it done. Its my own pressure, and my own goals - but I am glad when I get to meet one haha!!  Now onto the Teal/Aqua one  - lets hope it gets done before Sept!!

This month is going to be a bit different for me! I am taking a little Customer Quilting Sabbatical. All my customers are taken care of, ( well except the two that I will get done) but this month is  going to be:

I have a PILE of tops that I have made, and a few that I have purchased, and some wedding quilts I want to get done ----- So K and I decided that August looked like a good month for me to make it all about me!! PLUS its my Birthday month - so that fits - right???

I can't guarantee I'll be blogging more ( your happy about that aren't you?? ) but I am going to give it my best shot to get MORE done.

Oh Scrap at Quilting is more fun than houswork

Aqua / Teal Rainbow scrap challenge Lightning Streak Top is DONE

 I buckled down, I ignored these crazy kids.... and I got my RSC Top done!!

I did not have 5 inch squares cut of any Aqua's and Teals - But I did find some 5 inch strips. In the interest of time - I just cut the strips - so more  like a rail fence - but since it fits in the theme with my Lightning Streaks... that is what I am going to refer to it as!!!

I took it walking with me and my Puppies - and tried to find an artsy sport to take its photo...but with dogs. weeds and a little wind - nothing spoke to me .

Here it just looks crumpled!! But!! There you go - an artsy photo haha!

Bella was my hard worker - NO TV allowed Mom!!

Stop it!! Stop looking up - Work harder mom!!!

PS - I thought I would watch the Bachelorette. Bella wasn't having it - she wanted DOG shows!!

Seriously!! she is a drill sergeant!

See that look!!!!

I made the deadline - the July RSC top is done!! Now to my self imposed deadline - the jury is still out if the JUNE RSC will get quilted and bound in time....

Aqua / Teal Rainbow Scrap Challenge

 oops - did you know the month was half over?

I just pulled some Aqua and Teal out.... can I have an extension please? (pretty please)?

I am not behind - its just there are SO many fun things to do and to see and to do and..... I need an extension please.

I have two blocks left over from my Joshua Tree quilt, I have a scrappy goose from Geese Migration (Pattern found here)   and a pile of strings.

I don't have any 5 inch squares in this color... so I am going to have to come up with a quick plan!!!

NOW!!! as a Whoo Hoo!!!

My June Blue RSC top is done!! Off to pick a backing and see if I can get it quilted before the end of July....

Ohhhh i remember seeing a blue and white stripe somewhere in my stash - like a chambray color... that might be cool for a back.... if I can find it again!!!

Pink Lightning Quilt finish and !! Finished ( or not) Friday!

You guys... there is LIGHT at the end of the tunnel... I think our Construction project is on its last legs - and life will settle down just a tad. It has not been horrible - but!! it has been noisy, and people are here all the time... and I don't like people here all the time haha!!

My Contractor has been amazing - if you need a guy for Northern Colorado - Let me know - he's awesome!

Back to my own Construction!!! I finished my Pink Lightning Quilt in May (down to the wire!) and now!! I even got it quilted and bound!!

Ta da!!! Surprisingly it helped that my Little Dog needed to be spayed, and she wanted to sleep at my feet, so instead of moving to much, I sat and bound!!!

of course - I had to do mid day chores - and it was so HOT . So I took my quilt to take a photo - and up comes the wind.... Perfect timing !

So there you go!! Pink RSC Quilt is DONE!!!!

I am singing the Blues....

 But not really because I don't think I know how to sing the blues.... More like I am quilting the blues....

I pulled all of my Blue 5 inch squares out and got them on their dinner plate.... and then I started sewing some  twosies.... I think I will be pairing them with white for this months Lightning quilt 

But I also started something new... Its the BQ4 pattern - and I have to tell you, The directions are a little tough for me to understand - I think I have read them about 10 times now - and they are coming along... but boy oh boy - did I wonder what I had gotten myself into....

Today my finish is in top form! I snuck in just under the wire on getting this top topped - but I did it!!!! Got it done within the month of May!!!

Ta Da!!! - I love doing the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, but May almost beat me!!! My Friend Vickie let me borrow her chuck its so that I can keep my arm alive ( you know from playing fetch with the dogs) and I said something about May going fast.

When I got home I texted her and said - Oh my!! I only have 4 blocks done of my RSC challenge for the month - and she graciously told me to get to work!!! ( okay maybe she encouraged my - but its my story!!)

And I am forever grateful for her Chuckits - I can throw A LOT more for the dogs!!!

Bella is a full service dog - she carries the chuck it and the ball until we get to the play place - and then she gives me the whole thing. She might also walk a few miles carrying it... she cracks me up!

Judy asked who was who in my family - so come back Monday - We have 3 more vacations days to go - and I will identify whos who - haha!!! If I can remember!

Yellow Lightning RSC Quilt and !! Finished ( or not) Friday

 I finished my April Yellow Lightning RSC quilt!!! Whoo hoo 

I just have to say - try saying that last sentence three times fast. I am not even sure I have it right saying it the one time - regardless - my Yellow RSC from April ... is done!!!

It measures 45 x 54 ish - each block is supposed to be 9 1/2 inches (9 finished)

I had a lot of Yellow 5 inch squares - so this was a perfect way to use them!

I quilted it with a panto called Mexican Carpet  by Dawnas Design Threads. 

I liked the circles - I thought they were fun!

This backing worked out well - its 60 inch wide fabric . and my quilt was 45 ish - but!! I had another small quilt - so I cut enough backing to do both of them.  Altho - I only got one bound for FONF.....

I liked the springy fabric - We have had the craziest weather - in the morning its starting out warm and getting hot, then a storm rolls in and its cold... Not complaining! my timing for taking photos has been off!!! haha!

So far - I am all caught up on my RSC quilts being quilted... still piecing Mays pink one.

That is whats up with me, other than the hammering and the air guns and the big construction trucks.
