Ano: team chat for AI-native teams
Ano is a team chat application for AI-native teams. Channels, threads, and direct messages like Slack, with Claude Code wired into every channel so humans and AI agents can post messages, run commands, and ship work side by side. Today's team chat is completely blind to your tools, your terminal, and your code. Ano is a collaborative shell that actually lives where you build. Your shell, your terminal, your CLI, and your MCP servers: all wired directly into the room. Hit a key, ask for what you need, and watch it work. It runs scripts, pulls data, and posts results right back to the channel. No context switching. No copy-paste. One bright, wide-awake room. Nothing left rotting between tabs.
How Ano uses Google user data
Ano offers Sign in with Google as one way to create an account or sign in to a workspace. If you choose it, Google shares three pieces of basic profile information with us, and Ano uses each one for a single, narrow purpose:
- Email address (
userinfo.email): identifies your Ano account and is where workspace invitations, mentions, and notifications are sent. - Name and profile picture
(
userinfo.profile): used as the default display name and avatar on your Ano profile so teammates recognize you in channels and direct messages. You can change either one after signing in. - Google account identifier (
openid): used to link your Ano login back to the same Google account on every subsequent sign-in.
These are the only Google scopes Ano requests. Ano does not read your Gmail, your Calendar, your Drive, your Contacts, or any other Google Workspace data. You can revoke Ano's access from your Google account at any time. For full detail on what we store and how, see our Privacy Policy.
The company
Ano Instruments AB is a small, independent team based in Stockholm. We're not funded. We ship every hour. We use Ano to build Ano so we hit the rough edges before our customers do. Every product decision lands in a channel before it lands in code.
The company is registered in Sweden. We talk in English. We hire across the EU.
What we believe
- Software should follow the work, not the other way around. If a tool needs an onboarding deck, the tool lost.
- AI is a coworker, not a magic box. The agents that actually help are the ones in the same room as the people, reading the same context, getting credit and blame for the same outcomes.
- The shell wins. Every serious team eventually writes scripts to do the boring parts. Ano's job is to put those scripts in the room with everyone, on tap.
- Ship in hours, not weeks. Deploy when it's ready. Roadmaps in markdown. No JIRA. No tickets about tickets.
- Privacy is a default, not a feature. Your Claude Code prompts go straight to Anthropic on your account. We never see them. Workspace data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
How we work
Stockholm office, hybrid welcome, fully remote on the table for the right person in EU timezones. We write everything down. Code review is a conversation, not a customs checkpoint. Off-site twice a year, somewhere quiet enough to actually think.
