What's there to LIKE about this show?
- Generic characters and retarded development
- Animation is nothing special
- Sound... can't remember
- Plot is a generic slice of life high school playboy harem ecchi bs
- Suddenly miserable attempts of making the development interesting near the end of the series

I kind of liked (kind of at best) the first season, because the idea of making friends was at least a bit interesting, but this was a complete failure.

2/10

The comedy. It is a comedy you know.

If it doesn't make you laugh that's fine, differing tastes and all that, but that is its central purpose. All the rest is just window dressing and of secondary import.

Chars still suck, above all I hate Yozora, the only interesting char is Maria, the only one that makes me laugh from time to time.

I don't think anyone can actually like this, because those, who wanted ecchi harem got a series containing a plot, and those who wanted plot and character development got an ecchi harem series … or something along these lines xD
Other than that my feeling was, that the series did worst where it tried to be serious … except for the very end, where it (imho) accurately portraid life. Dunno what I would want to give this. Probably 5.5

Just finished going through the 2nd season in one go because I couldn't really bother following the episodes each week that it came out in, especially after how boring the first season was.

Shockingly though, the 2nd season actually blew me away, not because it was epic or anything, but because I never saw this coming, I expected another season of brainless fan-service and maybe a smile here or there, but what I got was a really well developed story and characters, the person who I thought was your generic good guy who can't see that someone loves him even if it was drilled into the inside of his eyelids, turns out to be the complete opposite, basically character development in this 2nd season was off the roof, almost every character had a secret I didn't see coming, I also really enjoyed watching the relation between Sena and Yozora develop from a silly Tom&Jerry like slapstick to a more refined friendship that is built on mutual respect and bit of love.

The fan-service is still there, some of it was nice when it was just the characters being wearing sexy outfits, Yozora and Sena, not the 2 small girls, it makes me sad that I even have to explain that statement, but I know how sick some anime fans can be, but I digress, there wasn't as much fan-service as the first season which is nice, and when there was it was reasonable and didn't take too much time.

The last episode was great, though am sad that they couldn't finish the whole story, it at least gives me hope that another season or movie might be made to wrap things up, even if they weren't made I like this ending more than if they came up with some rushed half-assed ending where everyone is happy, now at least I can still just read the manga in case they never make another anime continuation for this show.

I think the reason I could actually like this show this much, is because I never really saw it as a harem, yes there is 1 guy and group of girls around him and about half of them do have romantic feelings for him, but the show really never gave me the feeling that it was going for the harem route, what I saw is a group of people who are looking for friends, and when they finally found those friends in this new Club, they start doing their best to not lose them, it maybe silly to some of us who always had friends, but to this group of individuals, these friends are the first they had in their life, at least the first ones that they are actually consciously aware of as friends, you can see that in how Sena keeps forgiving Yozora even after all the really horrible things she got her in, or in how Rika pushes her self beyond her limits til she literally collapses from overworking, or best of all, in Kodaka in how he ignores and avoids any kind of romantic situation nay even desperately runs away from them, just so he wouldn't lose even one of the friends he just made.

Though sadly I see that many have not picked up on the fine little hints dropped in every episode, and I know this makes me sound like ass who think he knows better, still am sure if you rewatch the show with the knowledge you have now about each character and pay attention to small things each character says that you thought nothing of at first, you might see the show in another light.

Simply put, the 2nd season outdone itself almost in every way and I really enjoyed it.

After reading your post AsDeWqXYZ I gave this a second chance since I dropped this on ep 4 last time. I have to say I think we watched different animes 'cause I can't see most of the positive things you mention. Most chars are still crap, Maria and Sena are fun the rest... imo ain't. Honestly I don't see where all that development mentioned is, it's true that a lot of things happen but as a result the relations in general don't change much (save maybe for Yozora and Sena; the rest is left pending). As for the justification of his intended denseness it doesn't make much sense, they are friends already and his actions actually do more to threaten that friendship than help maintain it, and as for him not noticing they actually are friends, it's a club about friendship that does not know what friends are? I can only see that as stupid as a comedy club that doesn't know what humor is. In the end that denseness is more an excuse than anything else to keep the story in a constant stale state straight till the last ep where
I was expecting some change in the relations but, surprise, nothing happens, the moment some progress is to be made the series end, and the fight with Rika was crappy too, another moment were something could happen but again nop, stalemate, all you get is "we are already friends", while nice, it's just the mutual recognition of what already was

Also, this is clearly a harem save the 2 brats all the other girls are after him, romantically speaking, so at least 5 girls and a few potential future ones. Not to mention the convenient settings of Sena and Yozora, if that doesn't make a harem setting I certainly don't understand the term.
Guess in the end it boils down to the humor, if it's to your liking the rest flows much better while you wait laughing patiently for the plot to unfold, if you don't like the comedy that much, like me, then that wait is quite dull.

^ I respect your opinion of the show, am sad that you didn't see my way but to each his own.

I do wanna make one thing clear though, I never actually said the show doesn't have a harem setting, but that, to me it doesn't feel like one, a most people see harem as 1 male/female character that is surrounded by the opposite sex, which is fine, but to me, romantic feelings have to be part of the setting, and the option of an actual harem ending is possible, so to me this show really doesn't fulfill all of that.

Just finished watching this as part of chipping away at my two plus years of backlogged anime watch list and I did marathon watch this with the first series/season and to my surprise the second season threw a complete curve ball that I was not expecting.

After watching and remembering the first season, I thought there's not much more to this after the best part of first season was done.
I am talking about when Yozora revealed to Kodaka that they were friends ten years ago when they were kids.
Probably the biggest and best part of the first series was the last two episodes of the first season/series.

After a ending like that to the first season/series in anime I thought there was nothing more to this. Boy was I wrong. When the second season/series came I was bracing for more annoying bickering between Yozora and Sena and the same old typical stuff in these types of anime, but the second series/season just went a different direction down the romantic drama path. Sure it was harem but it was the interesting character relationship type harem not the silly stupid inconsequential type of harem. The characters actually got interesting and less annoying. Again, surprise curve ball there.

Needless to say I kind of wanted to see more and was kind of disappointed as to how the second anime series ended since it was a typical non-resolution open ending that ended way too early just when it got interesting. Just typical with most anime and most shows, which is reflective of the vote I gave to this, but I guess they can't promote and sell more books if they concluded the story for this. The light novel series that this anime is based on is still ongoing.

I am not liking the sound of that but then it's not like we are getting the original light novels in English anytime soon. We are however getting the manga adaptation in English though, as in I meant it is licensed by a North American Publishing House or Licensing Company.

Why is everyone acting like that was the end? It's pretty clear there is more story to tell.

yeah... but sadly it won't be for a while though.... the last episode was in sync with the last vol. of the novel released.... so by the time enough material from the novel is out for a 12 episodes tv anime, u'll most probably would of forgotten this anime.....

Couldn't agree with you more there and goes back to my opinion that anime adaptations from a source material are made to promote the original source material.

Story complete anime series are rare.

Just finished the second season of this anime. I wouldn't consider it a really good watch, but more of a breeze-through anime to watch in the downtime for the really good shows to come around. If you're waiting for the next episode of something like Nanatsu no Taizai, give this one a shot.

I honestly didn't know what to think of the second season. It didn't carry a lot forward in terms of story progression... we got to see new characters (Takayama Kate and Yusa Aoi), and apart from Rika, none of the main characters showed any significant development. Kodaka turns out to be a wimp, Yozora isn't as bitchy and is a bit more vulnerable, Sena and Kobato and Maria are the same, and Yukimura is finally revealed to be a girl (FINALLY!). BTW Stella and the father are never shown in this season, so don't go in with any expectations of encountering them visually.

The ending was abrupt, and it wasn't really the good kind because you wanted to know more about what happens and how things progress for all the club members, but there's just no way other than the LN to figure that out right now. Some sort of special after the ending would have been a good idea, but sadly, there is no word of anything there.

Still, it's not really anything surprising or impressive what the anime offers, but it's not all that bad either. Like I said, it's a nice little time-sink for you if you're bored and want to watch something without putting in a lot of effort. Let's hope they come out with another season soon.
