I think the "Contacts" app is awesome as I have been using it for years without a scintilla of a problem. The only thing I'm not clear on is the "chat" button & I think it is a tool to get you to your contacts. I don't use the CHAT option myself. Just the messaging. I think they are both one in the same unless you're texting with multiple people . But, anyway I think highly of the contact app and wouldn't be without it! John Anderson

Updated from 1 to 4 stars (29 Aug). Search function now working again. Irritating weather feature still there though. Lots of people having the same problem as me. Search function in contacts has stopped working. Typing in the search bar, it makes a half-hearted attempt to find something but gives up after three letters and says not found. Incredibly irritating. I have to scroll through my whole list. Might as well still keep names in a separate address book! No response from developers?

The app helps organize contacts, however, some of the recent updates are just not desirable. Specifically, photos are automatically placed even though I had a self-selected photo. The "more fields" layout is not clean and easy as it was previously. Lastly, the app automatically merges contacts even though they are different people. For instance, if I have someone named Bob and add another Bob, the app merges the two. Good luck unmerging them! Lots of annoying inconveniences.

The app has a great UI with a lot of features but automatically assigns contact pictures to some contacts on my phone. I don't even know where it gets the pictures from. For some people, it assigns the Google profile picture (even though I don't have their gmail address!). Especially for people that I don't know very well, having a picture of theirs pulled into my contacts app (and I don't know how many pictures of mine got pulled into others' contacts) seems very invasive. Please fix.

Google Dial and Google Contact is a very bad system, even if auto call recording is on, sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't and when the recording starts, it says directly by voice without giving any signal that your call is being recorded, these systems are very bad, the feature does not work. , I used to use mi contact and dialer before as a redmi user very easy and very good response hey google apps need to be deplobed more it is very difficult for us Bangladeshi people to use goo

I have many contacts, and use the star (favorite) to mark ones that are currently needed. I use the widget to display up to 7 favorites, and that *used* to work great, but now the widget doesn't update when I add or remove favorite stars. Clearing the cache, rebooting the phone, nothing works other than removing the widget and re-creating it.

For some reason I can't figure out my contacts and their numbers and info are automatically being deleted from the contact list and app , I have recovered them time and time again and it just keeps happening! I have no idea why or how to fix the issue and there is no link to click for help !! Extremely Frustrated and ready to trade in my android for an iPhone !!

Ever since your last update, my saved contacts are not shown by names, instead they are being displayed as an unsaved number which says "WhatsApp View Only". This is quite frustrating. Please resolve this issue ASAP.
