She poses with her back turned away from viewer, and reads a book she holds in both hands before her. Princess Louise was confirmed on Saturday 21st January 1865 at St Mildreds Church, Whippingham on the Isle of Wight. There portraits were taken at Windsor Castle on 7 March 1865.
