Jenny Saville. I found this painting very interesting. The face looks quite ordinary but the use of colour and the way it is painted in an abstract way makes the painting even more fascinating. The red paint brings out the colour in the painting and the swift, abusive strokes of the paint brush over the face makes us focus more into the eyes which have not been distorted like the other facial features such as nose and lips.
