Raku Fired Turquoise Copper Box - Toby Rivett

I made this box to be given away in just 2 Days before I was out of time with wet clay. I wanted to make the lid an interesting shape that didn’t require a knob so it is octagonal!

Faux jade box with inset faux bone panels decorated with views of scribblybark trees. To me the trees look as if they are trapped in the box. I didn't set out to do this exactly as I kind of make things up as I go, but I do like the result .....might have to play with this idea a bit more!

Small Lidded Vase Handmade Ceramic Jar with Lid by AlfarCeramics

Today was the last day of my ceramics class, and the day I finally got to see how six of the seven pieces I made turned out. One piece had already been fired, on the day we did a raku firing. I selected my coil pot to fire that day, and used white crackle glaze. It didn't crack as much as I would have liked, but it did crack some. For my pinch pot, I used a glaze called Vegas red.
