This week, British auction house TracksAuction.com sold a particularly interesting bit of John Lennon memorabilia: Two pieces of paper from his days at Quarry Bank High School, in Liverpool, that detail all the times he got detention, and why.

1957. John Lennon and Paul McCartney with The Quarrymen. John Lennon first formed, in 1956, with Pete Shotton the skiffle/rock and roll group the Back Jacks, which he later converted into The Quarrymen. Lennon meets Paul McCarthey for the first time during a performance of the group at the St. Peter’s Church in Liverpool. Paul joined the group on July 20, 1957. #Beatles #TheQuarrymen #1957
