"We Are Not Cutting Medicaid"

“WE ARE NOT CUTTING MEDICAID”

Democrats Voted to spend your Medicaid dollars on illegal immigrants and sex change operations

  • House Democrats voted against the One, Big, Beautiful Bill, which will strengthen and protect Medicaid.

  • Democrats voted to keep spending your Medicaid dollars on illegal immigrants and sex changes, instead of using it to help those most in need of assistance—mothers, seniors, individuals with disabilities, and low-income families.

  • Democrats voted against prioritizing American citizens and ending taxpayer-funded health care for 1.4 million illegal immigrants .

    • Medicaid itself reported $543 billion in improper payments, but external analyses show that the true number of improper payments is likely much higher.

    • Even CNN admitted  that the Democrats are lying about the One, Big, Beautiful Bill removing people from their healthcare.

  • Democrats voted to continue allowing taxpayer funds to go toward the mutilation of minors.

    • The One, Big, Beautiful bill is a pro-family and pro-American bill that fights against radical left wing wokeness.

  • Republicans are pushing for work requirements to maintain Medicare benefits to root out waste, fraud, and abuse in our system.

    • Democrats voted against this commonsense requirement.

    • Work requirements would not apply to pregnant women, parents, medically frail individuals and people with substance-abuse disorders, and others.

Republican Party of NM Responds To Governor

Republican Party of New Mexico Responds to Governor Lujan Grisham’s Face the Nation Interview

ALBUQUERQUE, MAY 12—The Republican Party of New Mexico (RPNM) rebukes Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s alarmist claims made on CBS’s Face the Nation on Sunday, where she resorted to fearmongering about federal Medicaid cuts. While she attempted to paint a dire picture to deflect from her failures, her own secret efforts to divert New Mexico’s tax dollars to healthcare for non-citizens jeopardize Medicaid access for our state’s most vulnerable citizens.

In response, RPNM Chairwoman Amy Barela issued the following statement:

"Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham’s recent interview on Face the Nation was nothing more than fearmongering dressed up as leadership. What she didn’t say is just as dangerous as what she did. The truth is, New Mexicans are at greater risk today because of this Governor’s continued decision to put illegal immigrants ahead of our own citizens.

Her push to provide taxpayer-funded health insurance for individuals who are here illegally is not only fiscally irresponsible—it’s a slap in the face to hardworking New Mexicans. Our state is already struggling to meet the healthcare needs of its residents, and now we’re being told to stretch an already limited budget even further. This reckless policy threatens to strip deserving citizens of the coverage they rely on.

We need real solutions—not political stunts and federal talking points. It’s time for Governor Lujan Grisham to stop adding to the problem and start putting New Mexicans first."

A recent report revealed that Governor Lujan Grisham attempted to approve a $1.75 million contract as part of a $56 million healthcare expansion program that included services for “undocumented immigrants” funded by state tax dollars. Further scrutiny of this no-bid contract with a close friend and former business partner was halted only after public and media scrutiny.

Lujan Grisham’s warnings of presumed federal Medicaid cuts ring hollow when her own actions prioritize non-citizens over New Mexicans who rely on Medicaid. RPNM calls on the Governor to cease her lies about the federal government and focus her attention on protecting Medicaid for New Mexico's most vulnerable legal citizens.

Medical Insurance and RVing

When I had my medical emergency four years ago at the Wells Fun Run in Wells, Nevada, I had to be flown by helicopter to St. Luke's Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls, Idaho to have two stents put into a coronary artery.

Along with the procedure of putting the stents in and the stay in the hospital, I also had to be flown by air ambulance. The air ambulance alone cost around $55,000+. (I now have air ambulance coverage since I live in a rural area and usually patients are transferred from Gallup to Albuquerque. The coverage is good anywhere,)

Fortunately for me, I had Medicaid at the time which covered all the aforementioned costs.

Does your medical insurance coverage also include out-of-network medical treatments while RVing?

RVer Insurance Exchange has an article comparing insurance coverages with different scenarios on what each insurance covers and what they don't.

They begin with:

Improper Insurance Coverage Can Have Devastating Financial Repercussions

Have you secured health insurance coverage for the year yet? If you have, congratulations! You are among the over 297 million Americans who have some type of health insurance coverage. You have taken the first step in mitigating financial risk and giving yourself peace of mind. But, do you understand how your health insurance plan works? Does it have network restrictions that could leave you vulnerable while you’re on the road? What does it (or you!) pay for a specialist’s visit, urgent care visit, or ER visit?

Understanding your plan’s benefits is almost as important as having coverage itself. If you do not use your plan properly, you will be on the hook for outstanding medical bills, causing stress and major financial burden. As a licensed health insurance agent working with the RVer Insurance Exchange, it is my job to not only provide health insurance options, but to help RVers and travelers understand how the plan they are purchasing actually works.
