Overview

Ralph TUI runs an autonomous loop around a coding agent CLI. It picks the highest-priority task from a prd.json file or a Beads epic, builds a prompt, runs the agent, detects completion and moves on. It supports Claude Code, OpenCode, Factory Droid, Cursor CLI, Gemini CLI, Codex and Kiro CLI, with session persistence and a remote listener for controlling instances on other machines.

Who it is for: Developers running coding agents unattended against a PRD or task list

Strengths

  • Works with seven agent CLIs, including Claude Code, Codex, Gemini CLI and Kiro CLI
  • Sessions can be paused, resumed and recovered after a crash
  • Remote listener with token auth and audit log controls instances on other machines
  • Optional sandbox mode (bwrap on Linux, sandbox-exec on macOS) and headless runs

Weaknesses

  • Only two task trackers: prd.json and Beads
  • Needs Bun and a separately installed agent CLI
  • Remote listener binds to 0.0.0.0 once a token is configured
  • Linux sandbox mode requires bwrap to be installed

What it needs

  • no GPU
  • Needs Bun, A supported agent CLI (Claude Code, OpenCode, Codex, etc.), Beads (optional tracker), bwrap (optional, Linux sandbox)
  • Models: Claude Code, OpenCode, Factory Droid, Cursor CLI, Gemini CLI
