I have had these wooden crafting nutcrackers from the craft store for three years now and haven't been able to decide what to do with them. I've been seeing lots of DIY ornament flocking, so decided to try and make my own flocked nutcrackers! 

I LOVE how they turned out!!! They are subtle, but look velvet and feel textured. Surprisingly they didn't take very long to make.

1. Apply one coat of paint - use matte paint! I love these folklore matte paints. 
2. Allow to dry and then do a second coat of paint. 
3. Before you allow the second coat to dry, sprinkle on a heavy coat of baking soda.
