An eclectic assortment of up-and-coming artists putting their own unique spin on where nu-metal has already been, and pointing toward where it’s going next. You might not like all of this, but you’ll *love* some of it.
  12. Connection Anxiety
    by Thotcrime
This is an album for when you’re standing at the crossroads, looking for the courage to take the next step. This band has been through hell to get this music out there, and a lot of this album is spent processing that, but it’s also constantly looking toward the horizon, ready for whatever’s next. A highlight of 2024.

    ch0ctaw ch0ctaw
One of my favorite releases of 2023. Musically, you’re never quite sure what’s coming next, whether that’s a breakneck metal passage or a left-turn into ethereal shoegaze. The last non-outro song, “ch0ctaw,” is a clear standout, beginning and ending with brutal guitar chugs over tribal jams in a nod to Siliclone Liquid’s Choctaw-Apache heritage. Excessive Paroxysm is a stunning debut from a talented underground artist with a hopefully long and successful career ahead of her.
