Campaign themes
2016
Cluette's website highlighted the following campaign themes:[2]
Education
- Excerpt: "Our leaders have taken a back seat to education. They've stripped it, standardized it, basically made it boring, and then wondered why kids are dropping out. We need to put our investment back into Education."
Economy
- Excerpt: "I see it as very challenging in the current state. You have the largest demographic, the baby boomers, who are getting ready to retire or work considerably less. We are passing laws to tax the top 3% more, which, in turn, makes them want to move to Washington. The government is beginning to rely too much on the lottery to bail them out. And for some reason, we want to scare away companies who can bring jobs. I'm waiting for our government to start opening up casinos in downtown Portland and Eugene."
