Alvin R. Kacin is the Department 2 judge on the Fourth Judicial District Court in Nevada. He was appointed by Governor Brian Sandoval on December 12, 2011, and took office on January 3, 2012.[1][2][3] He ran for re-election in 2014, winning a new term that expires on January 3, 2021.[4][5]

Education
Kacin received his undergraduate degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He earned his J.D. in 1994 from the Gonzaga University School of Law.[1]
Career
Before his appointment to the district court bench, Kacin was a judge on the Elko Township Justice Court and Elko Municipal Court. He also worked in private practice, with the firm Puccinelli & Puccinelli.[1]
