Susan E. Schwab is the chief magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. She joined the court on December 3, 2012, and her current term will expire on December 2, 2028. She will serve as chief magistrate judge for a four-year term.[1][2][3][4]

Education

Schwab received her undergraduate degree from Wilkes University and her J.D. from Widener University School of Law in 1992.[2]

Career

Early in her career, Schwab was an attorney in private practice. After that, she was deputy chief counsel for the Pennsylvania auditor general. Schwab was later deputy state treasurer for administration at the Pennsylvania treasury department. Immediately prior to joining the district court, she was deputy chief of staff for administration and was deputy chief counsel for the Democratic caucus of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.[2]
