Campaign themes

2016

Baker issued the following statement regarding his bid for office:

I am a conservative republican who believes that every responsible citizen has the right to keep and bear arms and the government has no right to infringe.

I am Pro Life and believe that abortion is the murder of an innocent life, I also believe that Planned Parenthood should be defunded.

I believe in traditional marriage, and that it should be the union of a man and woman.

I am a supporter of better medical and mental health care for our states veterans.

I believe that we should improve the state's classrooms.

I support pay raises for our teachers and an improved retirement system, to retain and hire better qualified educators.

I support better assistance to our elderly seniors who are hungry and struggling to make ends meet.

I support improving our roadways and bridges which in some areas are in a state of emergency.

I believe that we need to reorganize our welfare system and make drug testing mandatory, making it only a temporary program providing basic necessities of living. [5]
