At first I didn't like Before The Dawn that much, I preferred Down of Solace first album. Given it another shot recently when a new Album came out. Again at first I didn't like the new vocalist (for clean vocals), but after a few listens I really enjoyed Paavo Laapotti, especially his growls. He was great at the Voice of Finland.
Favorite track: The Dark.

BtD ranked #1 in my personal melodeath shortlist for years, I was lucky enough to attend an open air gig a decade ago to my greatest satisfaction. Pity we don't get more of their nigh flawless releases here over the platform though. I'd snuggle them all in a heartbeat for sure!
Stormbringers renders greater production and a consistently more aggressive approach than most previous albums, which is a step up of sort or at least an acceptable tradeoff

This is probably the Be'lakor album that took me the most listens to truly "get", though now after almost four years I can truly say that this magnificent LP is up there with anything in their ridiculous discography. That outro on 'Much More Was Lost' always leaves me with goosebumps, hairs on end and virtually in tears. Masterpiece of storytelling. Masters at work.
