Belize.com Ltd. was established in 1995 by M.A. Romero Chief Information Officer of Belize and Susan Guberman U.S. attorney-at-law and Belize tourism investor. Our founders bring to the table a wealth of expertise and knowledge on Belize based on years of education, training and experience in their respective fields.
Manolo started his career in 1975 at Radio Belize as broadcaster, eventually moving up to become news editor. He then worked as assistant editor of The Reporter newspaper, contributing editor of the Amandala newspaper, and later editor of the Belize Times newspaper in 1979. He studied Mass Communications at the University of the West Indies Mona. He was appointed Chief Information Officer to the Belize Government in 1985. During his time as CIO, Manolo assisted in finalising the design of the Belize Flag. In 1995 he left the government service to serve as an immigration consultant with the Belize Economic Citizenship Investment Program.
In recent years he served as Communications Advisor in the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministry of National Security 2018-2020. Manolo founded the first Bulletin Board System (BBS) in the country, BelizeOnline. Main interests: Political consulting, photojournalism and Belizean art. Many of the images on this website are his original work.
Susan Guberman, a native of New York, read law at the University of San Fernando Valley College of Law and was admitted to the bar California and the United States in 1975. She practiced general and family law in central and northern district California. Susan recognised the tourism and retirement potential of Belize in the early nineties and became a real estate investor in the tourism sector in Corozal and Ambergris Caye, Belize to where she eventually retired.

Sylvana is an expert in TESOL and recently returned to Belize after spending seven years at Ming Chuan University Taiwan teaching English. Since 2014 UB hosts the annual Silvana Udz Lecture Series which aims at encouraging students to take up interest in reading and engaging in the literary arts by exposing them to noteworthy Belizean intellectuals, writers, and other artists in the field.
