IMO one of the best albums of 2024 in the metal scene. Greece’s Khirki deliver it all - melody, speed, originality through Greek folk influences and panache. My faves are The Watchers of Enoch and Father Wind. Actually there are only really great songs.

Sleeper hit of the year for me. Damn fine album, especially the way it sucks you in with the opening track. So many tunes instantly stuck in my head.

I bought this album expecting doom, got an album full of eclectic heavy rock that is closer to American bands like Mastodon than British Doom ala Cathedral. Still, the vocals are absolutely gorgeous, the production is lush and punchy, the melodies ebb and flow. This album is a like a warm blanket on a cold winter's evening. And yes, there are nods to that classic British doom sound dispersed throughout the album. Not quite what I had expected, but a fantastic album nonetheless.
