Blood was started in 1994 by Q Studios as one of four Apogee games being developed in our Build engine (coded by Ken Silverman). A year later we sold the Blood rights to Monolith, who published the game.
Here's some 1994 concept art for the game that's never been released.

Those sketches look to be VERY early concepts. I think Nick was originally working with a friend of his on ideas for the game (I can't remember his name unfortunately). The stuff that I saw had a bit more fantasy feel to it. I started working with Nick in June of that year and we basically started over and went for more of the Evil Dead type horror.
