Blip Discs affiliate pq partners up with head honcho Tom Blip to remix last year’s Digida by Swordman Kitala and Village Cuts. It’s a thumper.
pq has been with the label since day. His first appearance was on mixdown duties for the Mubashira Mataali Group EP for BLIP007. Then, on BLIP009, he delivered a ridiculous remix (or rewonk) for Swordman Kitala’s debut EP.
Far from just a remix whizz though, he’s played a serious part in Kampala’s dance music scene and the whole Nyege Nyege continuum: founding Bugandan techno project Nihiloxica and making bangers with mc Ecko Bazz during his two year stay. He’s since released brain melting solo EPs on labels like Barcelona’s Lapsus and his own imprint Spooky Shit. It’s lovely to have him back on Blip.
