I grew up in a time and place where craft was abundant. Pottery, spinning & weaving, silver smithing, painting, printmaking & basketry were all popular hobbies. I fell hook, line and sinker for pottery following a week long Summer School I attended when I was only 13yrs old. I remember thinking at the time that making pottery was what I wanted to do with my life. That resolve never left me. I began making domestic ware on a pottery wheel and made my living doing markets and selling through craft shops and galleries around Australia. I stick to using glazes that I know interact well and that I've fired to the same temperature with success. This helps limit the chance of pinholes and other imperfections.
