There’s small and then there is narrow. A narrow bedroom can be difficult to work with as this space traditionally calls for multiple pieces of furniture, such as nightstands on both sides of a bed and a dresser or armoire that may be difficult to squeeze in comfortably. This shape of room can also be difficult to work with design-wise as extra-long walls on two sides can feel endless and may lack visual interest.

One of the things I loved about this home is that the primary bedroom was on the main floor and all the other bedrooms were upstairs. BUT while the primary bedroom was HUGE, most of that square footage was allotted to the actual sleeping space and the closets and bathroom were tiny. The two closets were your typical shallow closets with bifold doors and the bathroom was a long narrow galley style. We decided to knock all the walls down and start fresh with a generous 21’ x 24’ space.
