A project based on the Celtic Ogham Alphabet, otherwise known as the Celtic Alphabet Tree. Each of these symbols represents a sacred tree and each tree represents a feeling, attribute or essence.

A unique set of Ogham runes with each character handcarved from hazel wood. On each stave a picture of the tree corresponding to each letter. The trees are woodburned and painted with eco-friendly coloured woodstains. These staves have been finished with linseed oil and beeswax.

Today I felt inspired to make a set of Ogham staves. I did some research about these over the past few days and wanted to try to make a set on my own. I created my set from the natural shed of four great trees nearby. It took a while to find appropriately sized pieces and to trim them to vaguely similar lengths.
