*1905 World’s largest Diamond found - The Cullinan diamond, at 3,106.75 carats,626 gram, was found by Captain Wells at the Premier Mine near Pretoria, South Africa. The rough diamond was split and cut into nine major stones and ninety‐six minor ones.
