CHAP 8: This is actually a NYC Cloister so it is more modern, but it still works! A cloister is an open courtyard that is adjacent to the church. Some cloisters were covered by an ambulatory around all sides off of which access could be gained to other buildings and parts of the monastery. I just really think that it is very beautiful and well crafted. It makes me happy inside.
